Lisa Jones
Registered Manager (Stockport)
My Story
Lisa has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and a proven track record for providing an outstanding bespoke service to customers. Lisa prides herself on nothing less than perfection. Adopting a person-centred approach is embedded into her daily practice, approaching all clients with dignity, respect and privacy. Customers hold Lisa in high regard and she holds excellent relationships with various Local Authorities and NHS Commissioners and children’s services.
Lisa began her journey at the age of 18: she was a PA for the Dean of NHS Undergraduate Trainee Doctors, so was indirectly working in the health industry. Additionally, she held a second job ‘putting a lovely lady to bed each evening’. This part-time role led her to realise that having personal contact with people in the community was more rewarding. Consequently, Lisa secured a full-time position in finance with a care provider and part-time she worked as a carer in the community. With a growing passion for the care industry, she went on to gain qualifications to enhance her career.
After 10 years, Lisa moved on to another finance position in a small social enterprise care provider, quickly progressing to the role of deputy manager. Her role was very varied, giving her the opportunity to meet with clients, complete assessments, and work with care staff to manage rotas and assist with recruitment. In this role, Lisa gained a management qualification and became the Care manager, working with the commissioners from the local authority and continuing health care (NHS) dealing with fast tracks and end-of-life packages. Lisa developed a passion for end-of-life packages and feels it is of utmost importance to get them right. We don't get second chances when clients and families are having to deal with life changing situations.
Lisa continues to deliver care in the evenings and weekends as she enjoys that face-to-face contact time with clients, getting to know them and their families. This is of paramount importance and enables Lisa to allocate carers to packages by matching skills and personality to ensure the packages run smoothly. Lisa successfully ran this service for 12 years and gained trust from the commissioners as an honest and transparent care provider.
Lisa joined Westwood Homecare In April 2018 as part of the senior management team, assisting us in revamping and relaunching Westwood Homecare. Lisa has successfully created an excellent end-of-life service for Manchester Continuing Health Care; worked alongside the Learning Disability Team in Manchester and Trafford; and, more recently, Stockport Continuing Health Care have approached Lisa, following recommendations from Manchester, to replicate their service.
“I consider myself very fortunate to work for and hold shares in an industry that I have a passion for. I don’t consider it to be work, it isn’t just a job to me; it has become my life.”
